Oscar nominee Zero Dark Thirty opened wider across the U.S. and took the top spot at the box-office this weekend with $24 million in ticket sales.
Following it were two new movies. In second place was the low budget comedy A Haunted House with $18.8 million. Third place went to Gangster Squad with $16.7 million. Squad was pushed back from last summer after the incident surrounding the opening of The Dark Knight Rises.
Fourth place went to Django Unchained with $11 million and fifth went to the new musical Les Miserables with $10.1 million.
