A reboot of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre did better than Hollywood expected to lead the box-office this weekend with $23 million in ticket sales.
The 3-D reboot held off the latest film from Quentin Tarantino, Djano Unchained, which took second with $20.3 million.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey dropped from first to third with $17.5 million. The musical Les Miserables took in $16.1 million for fourth.
Rounding out the top five was Parental Guidance with $10.1 million.
