The CW is developing a new paranormal series based on the best-selling young adult novel, Embrace.
Written by Jessica Shirvington, the novel revolves around twentysomething Violet Eden, who discovers that she’s half angel and the key to a centuries-old war between fallen angels and their earthly protectors.
The project is in development with CBS Studios and is being guided by Bill Laurin and Glenn Davis.
Embrace joins the similarly themed supernatural drama Copeland Prep in the network’s development pipeline. The Bret Easton Ellis and Fake Empire drama revolves around students at a secondary school so competitive that they’re being turned into monsters and spreading the ramifications throughout the town. Twilight’s Catherine Hardwicke is on board as an executive consultant. The network also is developing Amazon, a Wonder Woman prequel.
