Studios Delay Box Office Numbers

Out of respect for the victims  in Aurora, Colorado, Hollywood has decided to delay the release of box-office numbers until Monday.

Warner Brothers announced the news Friday in the wake of Friday morning’s tragic screening of The Dark Knight Rises.

Sony, Fox, Disney, Universal, Fox, Paramount and Lionsgate said Saturday they would join Warner Brothers in delaying their numbers until Monday.

Security has been heightened at theaters across the country.  AMC theaters said they are not allowing audiences to come to the movie dressed like characters from the popular Batman franchise.

Rises star Christian Bale said his heart goes out to the victims of the tragedy.

“Words cannot express the horror that I feel,” Bale, who plays the caped crusader in the film, said in a statement. “I cannot begin to truly understand the pain and grief of the victims and their loved ones, but my heart goes out to them.”

I’m confused. (not an unusual state for me) Your article states that AMC theaters are not allowing people dressed in costumes from the Batman franchise. CNN articles have stated AMC is not allowing anyone in costume. Which is it? Because I honestly think not allowing costumes is going to accomplish absolutely nothing.

    Why is fox mentioned twice?

AMC is allowing costumes just not masks or toy/prop weapons. They clarified this point on their Facebook profile. So no more lightsaber duels when Lucas releases the rest of the saga in 3D.

The wife and I saw ‘Brave’ at an AMC Dine In Theater this past weekend. Other then a mall cop posted outside the building it was business as usual.
