At this point, World War Z looks more doomed than the zombie apocalypse it wants to portray on-screen.
A couple of weeks ago, we told you that Damon Lindelof had been brought in to punch up the movies’ third act. Now comes word that Paramount has hired another writer to come in and work on the third act.
Drew Goddard, who co-wrote Cabin in the Woods and is a Whedon-verse alum, is being brought in to work on the third act. According to reports, Lindelof painted some broad strokes on how to fix the film’s final act and Goddard will fill in the details.
And Paramount is making plans for another re-write as well. They also will reportedly have Christopher McQuarrie take a pass at the script when Goddard is through.
Nothing in any of the recent reports about World War Z give us any hope this film won’t be D.O.A.

This is doomed to be film version of the money black hole that was the Broadway production on Spiderman. After having just watch a movie called “Primer” and see what $7,000 can get you I am once again stuck by what a crazy amount of money Hollywood thinks it takes to make a good film.
