International Space Station Will Screen “The Avengers”

While everyone on Earth has had five weeks to catch this summer’s biggest hit The Avengers, astronauts aboard the International Space Station haven’t had the luxury to run out the local multiplex to catch it.

Marvel announced last week that they will upload the film to the station for those aboard to enjoy.

This screening continues Marvel’s collaboration with NASA, which began during principal photography when the film shot at the Space Power Facility at NASA’s Plum Brook Station in Sandusky, Ohio.

Louis D’Esposito, Marvel Studios’ Co-President and Executive Producer of  The Avengers says, “The studio is privileged to share Marvel’s The Avenger with those up in space exploring the universe.  A special thanks goes to NASA for utilizing their incredible technology to make this special screening miles above us in space happen.  It is a screening that would make Tony Stark envious.”

Thankfully for our brave men and women in orbit, there are no plans to upload Battleship in the immediate future.
