While territories outside the United States were powering The Avengers to a huge overseas opening, audiences domestically made Think Like A Man the top box office draw for a second straight week.
The Steve Harvey comedy made $18 million, according to studio estimates from box-office tracking firm Hollywood.com.
In second place was The Pirates! Band of Misfits with $11.4 million, almost $2 million above projections.
Also turning in a strong second weekend: the Zac Efron romance The Lucky One, which was third with $11.3 million. The Lucky One has made $39.9 million in 10 days.
And while The Hunger Games has slowed its breakneck pace, the film took fourth place with $11.25 million, lifting its box-office total to $372.5 million.
The Jason Segel comedy The Five-Year Engagement didn’t get far down the aisle. The movie made $11.2 million for fifth place. Analysts expected Engagement, which got solid reviews, to be the top film with about $15 million.
