In a close race at the box-office, the “found footage” thriller Chronicle had just enough magic to edge out Daniel Radcliffe’s first post-Potter role. Chronicle took in $22 million to win the weekend, squeaking past The Woman in Black with $21 million.
The films continued to boost box office, which rose 10% over January 2011, according to Box Office Mojo.
Liam Neeson’s The Grey was third with $9.5 million.
Big Miracle opened at third with $8.4 million and Underworld: Awakening was fifth with $5.6 million.
