Wachowskis Want Portman For “Jupiter”

Wachowskis Want Portman For “Jupiter”

January 5, 2012 By Michael Hickerson 3 Comments

Lana and Andy Wachowski are reportedly pursuing actress Natalie Portman for the lead role in their upcoming sci-fi project Jupiter Ascending.

The Warner Bros. project whose plot details have remained tightly under wraps, would reunite Portman with the Matrix filmmakers after the two collaborated on the graphic-novel adaptation V for Vendetta.

Portman has been taking a break from acting to spend time with her new born son.   It’s reported that Jupiter could start filming this fall, giving Portman more time with her son before she returns to acting.

Portman is no stranger to sci-fi.  She was set to star in Gravity, before she dropped out and the lead role went to Sandra Bullock.

Portman is “seriously weighing taking the part” according to 24 Frames.

    Lana? Do you mean Larry?

Larry has become Lana. It’s why their more recent projects aren’t credited as “Wachowski Brothers” on them. It was (still is?) a long process, but Google has links to all the details.

Hah, how did I miss that piece of showbiz trivia? Thanks Summer. Good luck, Lana.
