Ready for a fourth round of scares?
Paranormal Activity 4 will look to deliver chills to audiences and to scare up more big business at the box-office later this year.
Paramount confirmed a fourth installment in the franchise will debut in October. However, the studio did not confirm when the movie will actually open.
The success of the Paranormal Activity films, made on a shoestring budget, is a sizeable victory for Paramount and producers Jason Blum, Oren Peli and Steven Schneider.Paranormal Activity 3 grossed $202.2 million worldwide — besting the first two films, unusual for a third outing.
Paranormal Activity 3 opened to a massive $54 million at the domestic box office over the Oct. 21-Oct. 23 weekend in 2011 — the top launch of all time for a horror pic, as well as the best October debut ever.
