Easier to Understand Bane Preview Hitting Theaters?

While the preview footage of The Dark Knight Rises has fans eager to see the third and final installment of Christopher Nolan’s Batman saga, there’s been one major complaint surrounding it–Bane’s voice.

Last week, we reported that executives at Warner Brothers are concerned about the sound mix and whether or not audiences will be able to easily understand the Batman villain when Rises hits theaters later this year.

It appears that there could be a step toward correcting that, though nothing is yet confiirmed.

According to sources over at Collider, IMAX theaters across the country have received a new soundtrack to play along with the Dark Knight Rises footage. The information comes second hand – the source knows a projectionist who works in an IMAX theater – but it says that Bane’s dialogue has been made to be more understandable. A big part of that has been simply reducing the volume of other elements in the scene, such as the plane engines.

Whether or not this means that the final edit of Rises will be tweaked to make sure that audiences understand Bane remains to be seen.   We’ve still got a long time until Rises hits theaters.
