Fundraiser to save Evans City Cemetary Chapel

The Evans City Cemetary Chapel was immortalized in George Romero’s Night of the Living Dead, but the building itself is now in danger of being destroyed.

Gary Streiner, a sound engineer who worked on the 1968 cult classic, is trying to raise $50,000 needed to repair the chapel and save it from the cemetary association’s plans to demolish the building.

Those plans are on hold for now, to give Streiner time to see if he can raise the funds needed for repairs.
