Scott Says New "Blade Runner" Will Be A Sequel

Director Ridley Scott says the upcoming Blade Runner project will be a sequel to the 1982 classic film but that none of the original cast or characters will be back for it.

Speaking to the Wall Street Journal’s Speakeasy, Scott confirmed that his next pet project is the sequel to Blade Runner.  And that the film could happen very soon.

“I think I’m close to finding a writer that might be able to help me deliver,” Scott says, “we’re quite a long way in, actually.”

Scott went on to say that the film will be set in the same universe but none of the original characters from the first film will be back

I actually think a pre-qual would be better in this case. Some back story on how the replicants came about and were used in the wars. But I guess that could just lead to a remake of Universal Soldier, so, never mind!
