Only a few more weeks until the debut of ABC’s highly anticipated series, Once Upon A Time.
And as we wait, producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz have dropped hints about Kristin Bauer van Straten’s role in the show.
Bauer van Straten signed up for the role of evil witch Maleficient last month.
“In our world, Maleficient is the Evil Queen’s oldest friend – and someone she wishes would just drop dead,” Kitsis told TV Line. “That’s what happens when evil befriends evil.”
Horowitz added that Bauer van Straten is perfect for the part, saying: “To go toe to toe with our Evil Queen, we needed an iconic character, which led us to introduce Maleficient. And as huge fans of Kristin’s we couldn’t imagine anyone better to come in and bring her to life.”
The new ABC drama stars Jennifer Morrison as a woman with a troubled past who moves to a small town in Maine where the magic of fairytales appears to be real.
Brad Dourif also recently landed a role in the show, which will premiere on October 23.
