At a recent screening of Raiders of the Lost Ark, director Steven Spielberg revealed that the original Indiana Jones trilogy is being prepped for Blu-Ray release and that his classic movie E.T. could also see Blu-Ray release in the near future.
During a question and answer session, Spielberg asked the audience if they’d like to see only the original version of E.T. and not the special edition on the Blu-Ray release. The audience approved and Spielberg said that he regretted his decision to remove certain jokes from the movie and to edit out the guns in the special edition.
According to Ain’t It Cool News, Spielberg said he regretted “robbing the people of their memories of the movie” and the he didn’t plan on digitally reworking any of his movies again in the future. (Could he please talk to George Lucas?!?)
As for an Indy 5, Spielberg says he’d like to do one and actor Harrison Ford says he’d be on board as well. Ford added that he didn’t want to see Indy “go to Mars” but that if the script is good, he’s ready to don the fedora and leather jacket again.

Thank you sir steven, giving us back the original ET is a wonderful thing. Now please go beat that idea in George's head too. Heck with blu ray he could release every version on one disk practically.
