Our next story may make horror author Clive Barker happy. A rift between the creative team behind a Hellraiser reboot and Dimension Studios could mean the project will be abandoned.
Patrick Lussier and Todd Farmer were set to direct the film, but say that there are significant disagreements between them and the studio. The biggest beef is over the intended rating for the film. Lussier and Farmer want an R-rated film and Dimension wants a PG-13 one.
“If we do Hellraiser, it’s rated R; if they want to do PG-13 then they have to get rid of us,” says Lussier. “It’s changed dramatically since we started, and it will probably change a lot more before it’s all over. Originally what they wanted was epic and dark, rated R. It was in our contract.”

Good. It needs to be R.
