It’s been over 20 years since the original Beetlejuice scared up a solid audience at the box-office. But that’s not stopping Warner Brothers from moving ahead with a potential sequel to the film.
Made by director Tim Burton and star Michael Keaton as they were preparing to work on Batman, the film followed a pair of ghosts who hire the title character to scare off the living residents of their home. The character in question was called by speaking his name three times, you may recall.
Warner Brothers reportedly has hired David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith to pursue a sequel to the original film. It’s part of a two-year development deal the duo has signed with the studio.
According to reports, the film would be a sequel to the original but one designed to reboot the movie as a possible franchise.

Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice.
that should work.
Any other 80's films left?
How do you make that into a franchise? We get to follow Beetlejuice around and see how he scares off humans over and over again? Sounds like an MTV show not a movie franchise.
Beetlecrap, Beetlecrap, Beetlecrap.
Didn't they already try this with the cartoon?
Yes they did. It was a cartoon where BJ is the hero. A slacker hero, but still a hero. Didn't see the other ghosts from the movie. Basically it's BJ and that girl hanging out and exploring the netherworld.
