Actor Malcolm McDowell has signed on for Syfy’s reboot of The Philadelphia Experiment.
The network ordered a remake of the 1984 original film, about the mythical World War II-era US Navy experiment that rendered an entire ship invisible.
Entertainment Weekly reports that McDowell has been cast in the role of the scientist who originated the experiment.
McDowall will be joined by Kyle XY actor Nicolas Lea, Sanctuary stars Ryan Robbins and Emilie Ullerup and veteran actor Michael Paré.
The remake will move the film’s setting into the modern day, as a team of scientists attempt to replicate the original experiment with disastrous consequences.
Will Paré be reprising his original role or some other character? He is 53 now so may be too old for that role.
