It’s official–we won’t get a new Star Trek movie next summer.
Paramount removed the movie from next summer’s release list and has replaced it with the sequel to G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.
The next Trek film is supposed to begin filming in January and may be ready for release in the holiday season of 2012.

I thought this might happen. Paramount has done the right thing. Trek will make a great holiday season release instead of a summer one.
