While Castle isn’t necessarily always a show that falls into the sci-fi and fantasy genre, it does still have a connection via Nathan Fillion.
And next fall, it will have another genre connection. The series is going to air an episode based on the hit comedy Ghostbusters.
Producer Laurie Zacs says the episode is set to air around Halloween this year and that he hopes to reunite as much of the original cast as possible on the show.
“The story arena was just broken, but my own personal wish for that is that we get one of the original Ghostbusters to appear. I think it’ll be a very fun episode. Honestly, that’s all I know about it because they’re just starting to write it… Everyone’s really excited about that, he says.
Zaks also revealed that another installment will have a superheroes theme. “The ‘superheroes’ is the second episode and they alluded to an episode with Ryan’s gun, the gun that was left on the scene of the 3xK killer. That’s a very compelling episode. That’s going to be really good, ” he says.
Zaks also says he’s hoping to use Fillion’s friendship with members of the Firefly cast to get some of them to guest star this year as well.
