Oscar-winner Hilary Swank has signed on for the big-screen adaptation of Shrapnel.
The comic, written by Nick Sagan and Mark Long, takes place in 2250, when the dictatorship of the Solar Alliance rules over the humans that have come to colonize the galaxy.
Swank will take on the role of a former Solar Marine living on the free planet of Venus who decides to start an uprising against the brutal regime, according to Variety.
The Shrapnel comic book started as a trilogy and is now a game for the iPhone.
