As Showtime’s Dexter enters its sixth season, many fans may be wondering when the show might decide to start wrapping things up.
That won’t be any time soon, says producer Sara Colleton.
“Every year we are as excited as we were about the previous year,” she told TV Line. “As long as we can move Dexter into a new territory to explore, it’s exciting for viewers. And as long as there are new, profound ways of examining human nature, the show stays fresh.”
Colleton added that the cast and crew will know when it is the right time to stop filming the series.
“When we feel we have reached that end, nobody on the show wants to start treading water,” she said. “When that will be, we’ll know when we get there, but I don’t see it as an imminent thing.”

To some extent the last season felt that it had already jumped the shark. I hope that season 6 is significantly better as I have really enjoyed the show though.
I like another blogger felt that last season was kind of lame. But that is how television shows work, if it is good in the beginning, they will milk it to the last drop, until the program will become virtually unwatchable. I don't see any graceful ending here...
