Disney will release Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides on Blu-Ray/DVD combo pick, 3D Blu-Ray and for on demand viewing on October 18. But if you only want to pick up the film on DVD, you’ll have to wait another month to get it.
Disney announced the release plans for the summer blockbuster last week.
The move could be a shift in how movies are released to home theater. Disney has been a trendsetter in how films are released for home theater in the past.
Will we see audiences forced to wait longer for the DVD only releases of popular films in the future?

I am sure the people at Zediva are interested in this...
Nice try Disney but I'm still not switching to Blu-ray!
I agree, I'm in no hurry to see it. In face this is the worst thing they could do because someone will buy the combo and rip it to the net and so some of your potential customers will watch it online and realize what a pathetic cash grab it is and pass on it.
