Johnson Interested in "Rocketeer" Sequel

Director Joe Johnson is putting the finishing touches on Captain America: The First Avenger. But for his next foray into the world of superheros, he says he’d like to revisit The Rocketeer.

“The film didn’t do as well at the box office as we all hoped, but it has endured and generated a following. It was great fun and I’d love to re-explore Cliff Secord’s world,” he tells Film Journal.

The original starred Billy Campbell and Jennifer Connolly.

He added that he would be “interested” in any projects that feature superheroes as “human” as Steve Rogers.

I would love to see another Rocketeer movie. I've loved the first one since I was a kid, it's just a whole lot of fun.
And it starred William Campbell (he was credited as Billy Campbell in the movie), not Bruce Campbell, as awesome as that would have been.

I loved this movie when it came out and still enjoy it. Its a great family-friendly action adventure movie.

Also had Timothy Dalton in this movie too, which was great!

There has been continued interest in The Rocketeer as demonstrated by a huge anniversary event of the film which occurred in Hollywood recently.

I loved the movie when it came out and would love to see it be renewed as a film franchise.
