New Spidey Title Coming in November

Everyone’s favorite web-slinger is getting a new comic book series.

Kicking off in November, Avenging Spider-Man will be a new on-going series featuring one of Marvel’s most popular characters.

The series was announced by Zeb Wells and Joe Madureira.

The title will see Peter Parker taking on a larger role in the Marvel Universe, focusing on his life as a member of the Avengers.

“This is the book where you could see Spidey leave New York City for a while,” said Wells during Marvel’s latest ‘Next Big Thing’ press conference.

Madureira, who has worked mainly in the video games industry in recent years, spoke of his return to comics.

“Spidey has been my favorite since I was a kid,” he said. “About once a year, I get the itch that I really want to draw comics again, but my schedule has so much going on that makes it impossible.

“But enough people asked me and they offered Spider-Man, so I couldn’t say no. What if I get hit by a truck next month? I gotta draw Spidey.”

The idea for the series came out of a discussion of the old Marvel Team-Up title between Wells and editor Steve Wacker.
