Ever since we caught wind of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot, we’ve heard from everyone involved with the classic series about the proposed film.
All except one–series star, Sarah Michelle Gellar.
The film is being made without the television cast and without Joss Whedon. And just about everyone involved with the series thinks it’s a bad idea.
So does Gellar.
“It was a movie. It’s been made. They made it. They don’t need to make another one,” Gellar tells Blastr. “I think it’s a horrible idea. To try to do a Buffy without Joss Whedon, I mean that’s, like, honestly, to be incredibly non-eloquent: that’s the dumbest I’ve ever heard.”
Unfortunately, that’s not keeping Hollywood from making the reboot. It’s still happening.

I'm glad she didn't say "to try and make Buffy without me". Whedon was the secret sauce that made that show work, love it or hate it.
I loved the show and cast, but would welcome a reboot with an all new cast if Whedon were involved.
Without him? Waste of time and money.
I agree with Gellar--what a stupid idea. You should wait awhile before attempting to remake something. I'd rather have the original cast back. It's too soon.
