It’s a good thing Fringe got an early renewal.
Fox gave out pink slips to five shows yesterday. Among them were Lie to Me, The Chicago Code, Human Target, Breaking In and Traffic Light.
The network also passed on one pilot for the upcoming season, Locke and Key.
Locke & Key is an adaptation of the popular graphic novel series from Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman. The costly supernatual thriller is reportedly dead in the water right now, it’s possible that another network could pick it up at a later date.
Orci and Kurzman’s other pilot for Fox, the Ethan Hawke vehicle, Exit Strategy, is on the bubble right now and it seems likely that it will only progress after a retooling.
Fans of many of these shows expressed their ire last evening via Twitter.
We’ll see what Fox has on the schedule for next year when the network upfronts begin next week.
Sorry to see Human Target go . . . and nothing they've announced struck a chord, least of all Alcatraz.
Human Target and Lie To Me were two of my favorite shows. I guess I'm only down to watching Fringe and American Idol on FOX now. Outside of Terra Nova and MAYBE Alcatraz, I'm not interested in anything else they're prodcucing.
Another two awesome shows down the drain.
I'll miss Human Target and The Chicago Code. I enjoyed Human Target and I really liked The Chicago Code.
I've not watched past season one of Lie to Me which was good, but not a fav. I may now watch the latter two seasons.
I've not watched Breaking In, but I liked the idea and it looked good. Shame to see not even complete a season.
I'll really miss Human Target. It was a fun show.
I loved the first season of Human Target. I hated the second. I'm glad it's gone. There was no point in continuing what became unwatchable.
I had given up on Human Target, but The Chicago Code was good and Breaking In was pretty funny. I thought Breaking In was getting pretty good ratings.
I'm glad no one so far is talking about boycotting Fox.
I liked both Human Target and Lie to Me, but both, but I rather them sacrificed to keep Fringe on.
Human Target had fallen off it's first season fun for me, but I was still enjoying Lie to Me. Never watched Chicago Code, and I watched one episode of Breaking In because it had both Christian Slater and Bret Harrison (Reaper), but to me it seemed to be a pale copy of that Tim Daly show, Eyes... it definitely wasn't funny. I still don't know why Slater's previous show, "the forgotten", was ended, but I like that they ended the series with some closure for his character.
But overall, yes, I'd sacrifice Lie to Me to keep Fringe around.
I don't understand people who are glad shows get cancelled. There were many fans of Human Target who now will have their entertainment options cut short.
I wonder if I should be glad SGU is gone since I stopped watching it during the first season.
Should I root for Fringe to be cancelled because I don't watch it?
Really, I can see criticizing a given show based on personal preferences (I do it all the time), but rejoicing when it's cancelled brings a level of emotional attachment (in this case, hate) that some (me) might be inclined to view as unhealthy.
Then again, I guess it's de rigour these days to not only cheer for your team winning, but to express joy when bad fortunes comes to the other teams.
I'll miss Guerrero most of all. Finally I found a character I could relate to.
Fox can Choke on it as far as I'm concerned.
Dark Horizons is reporting that FOX is reconsidering its canceling of "Breaking In" after seeing the ratings. A firm decision will be made in about a weeks time.
