Veteran television writer Mark Verheiden has joined the Dark Tower television series. The series will serve as a bridge between the first and second films in the franchise.
Verheiden will executive produce the The Dark Tower series along with Akiva Goldsman and his Weed Road Pictures for Universal Media Studios. He will also share in the writing duties to adapt the best-selling series.
The series is part of an ambitious deal to adapt the novels in movies and for television. A trilogy of films, directed by Ron Howard, are planned with television series to fill in the gaps between the films.
