Reboot Rage: Seventh Sign, Child's Play

How about a little mid-week reboot rage?

Seems that rebooting horror franchises is all the rage (pun intended) these days. And two horror films from the 80′s are next in line.

First up is a reboot of The Seventh Sign.  The original starred Demi Moore and Michael Biehn.  No word yet on who might direct the reboot or who they’d cast in the Moore role.

Next up is the reboot of Child’s Play.  The new take on the Chucky series will bring actor Brad Dourif back to voice the evil doll.  And creator Don Mancini says the film will reinvent the franchise.

“Chucky will be scary again. If you look at the first film you don’t see a lot of the doll and it will be the same here : Chucky will be kept in the shadows for a lot of the movie,” he says.  “This is going to be a very straightforward horror film which follows the conception of Chucky’s conception and how he ends up with a small family as a birthday present. It’s about the perversion of childhood fantasies : Chucky is the monster in the closet in this movie…”
