Lejon from Chandler says
The events depicted in the movie are fictitious. Any similarity to any comic book you may have read, in or out of the public domain, is merely coincidental. No Green Lanterns were harmed in the making of this film, and all Green Lantern scenes were overseen by the Guardians of OA.

Never read the comic . . . but I too want the ability to conjure up massive automatic weapons with a wave of a hand. Would come in handy during my hour-plus commute.
This might be a film I will see at the theaters.
