"The Event" Drops in the Ratings

The much-hyped return of "The Event" didn't do much to move the ratings needle.

After a three-month hiatus, the series aired back-to-back episodes Monday evening and saw the audience drop off by a third. For the two-hour block, the episodes could only score a 1.4/4 rating, with 5.53 million total viewers in the first hour and 4.93 in the second, or a shocking drop of 26 percent.

Couple Marries Via Skype

You can connect with people a lot of ways via Skype. But one couple took Skyping to to a whole new level last weekend when they exchanged wedding vows via the popular VOIP service.

The groom, Samuel Kim, was in the isolation ward of a local hospital at the time, putting in jeopardy the big wedding he and his bride-to-be Helen Oh, had planned. The couple had friends and family coming in from across the world for the ceremony when Kim took ill and was forced to go to the hospital.

Del Toro May Not Direct "Mountains of Madness"

Director Guillermo del Toro may walk away from the director's chair for the big-screen version of "At The Mountains of Madness."

According to Deadline, Universal Studios is wary of spending $50 million on what they perceive as a horror film. Add to it that del Toro wants to direct and adapt "Madness" for an R-rating and the studio could be getting cold feet. Studio executives think that going for an R-rating in the film could keep teenagers out of theaters and make it harder for the studio to earn back the investment.
