Kevin Costner has definitely signed on to star as Jonathan Kent, adopted father of the child of Krypton Kal-El, a.k.a. Superman. With an actor of Costner’s stature the role will no doubt be expanded from earlier film and TV portrayals of Pa Kent. The only other Superman franchise to flesh-out Clark’s dad was “Smallville” which had “Dukes of Hazzard” alum John Schneider cast as Jonathan for several seasons.
In other big casting news Joseph Gordon-Levitt (“Inception”) will star as Alberto Falcone, a.k.a. The Holiday Killer for Christopher Nolan’s last foray into the world of Batman in “The Dark Knight Rises.” Reprising their respective roles for this final film directed and produced by Nolan are Christian Bale as Batman, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman. New to the cast with Levitt will be Anne Hathaway and fellow “Inception” actor Tom Hardy (“Star Trek: Nemesis). Falcone is the son of Carmine Falcone the notorious crime boss in “Batman Begins.” Look for it in theaters beginning July 20, 2012.
Lynda Carter, the actress many see as the only real Wonder Woman, has stated in recent interviews that she is pleased Adrianne Palicki was chosen to portray the Amazonian crime fighter, but she has yet to comment on the horrendous costume chosen for the young actress.
Bradley Cooper’s new film “Limitless” may be all the rage with tons of hype surrounding it (much to do with the fact that Robert Di Nero is also starring), most of the press this weekend concerning Bradley has to do less with the film and more with his very publicized breakup with Oscar-winning actress Renée Zellweger.
The episode of “Fringe” which aired on Friday, March 18 allowed actress Anna Torv to stretch her acting wings quite a bit as she literally channeled Leonard Nimoy’s character William Bell. Her character and voice inflections, as well as certain physical quirks and facial tics were so “right on” if one closed their eyes for just a moment it was like Nimoy was on the set. The episode titled “Stowaway” is a must see for all “Fringe” fans.
If you missed it check on the Hulu/IMDB Video Page. Next week (March 25) viewers get to travel back to the alternate universe as Olivia’s alter-self and her unborn child are placed in mortal danger.
Jodie Foster, not usually known for her jaunts into scifi, apart from such classic genre films as “Contact”, has decided it was time she helm a new untitled scifi drama. She will not only direct, but also star, however, it will be a while before it hits theaters as the storyline is currently in its early scripting phase.

You forgot that the 90’s “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman” had a recurring Jonathan Kent. It wasn’t as big as Smallville, but then Smallville was the story of Clark growing up on the farm, while Lois & Clark was the story of Clark starting out on the Daily Planet.

I forget nothing. My mind is a steel trap. It is like a sieve with all the holes plugged with super glue. It…..what was I talking about exactly?

Wait, wait, wait… wasn’t Martin Sheen supposed to be Jonathan Kent? How did we go from him to Costner? Is this going to be like Costnerhood, or Dances with Costner, or maybe Costnerman?
