Hitfix's Daniel Feinberg Breaks Down the Season Finale of V

V aired its second season finale last night.  And while the show is on the bubble for next year, Hitfix’s Daniel Feinberg says the show is finally taking steps in the right direction.

Much of what he has to say is SPOILER material if you haven’t seen last night’s episode yet.  So, don’t read any further if you don’t want major plot points from the finale ruined…

Here’s a bit of non-SPOILERy stuff Feinberg says:

After ineptly attempting to make viewers care with and root for a rag-tag bunch of wretchedly written, poorly portrayed freedom fighters for the better part of 22 episodes, “V” surrendered on Tuesday night and just admitted what’s been blatantly obvious since the premiere: Morena Baccarin’s Anna is the show. Period. And she isn’t just the show. She’s the freakin’ hero of the show. If that makes Humanity and The Fifth Column the villains on “V”? So be it. I’m not sure that there’s a single human character on the show that I don’t view as cannon fodder and it was almost courageous of the “V” writers to admit that over 22 episodes, they’d shaped The Fifth Column into the most useless resistance force ever.

You can read the full column HERE. But again, be warned it does contain SPOILERS!

Excellent ending. You might pause for a second to think that maybe that was the plan. Just sit back and enjoy the ride. I am glad to see the change and kill off of a main character that I did not like and 1 that I partially liked. Anna is the Queen!!!!!

  3. Actually producer Scott Rosenbaum says that what we saw this season was about half of what he had planned if the series had a full season order of 22 episodes.

Right on, Daniel! Morena Baccarin is deliciously evil, perfect for this role, and always has been the centerpiece of the show.
