"Tomb Raider" Getting a Reboot

It’s official. Lara Croft is getting a reboot.

Producer Graham King and his GK Films have purchased the rights to develop a new big-screen version of “Tomb Raider” according to the Hollywood Reporter. King and GK Films hope to have a new Lara Croft gracing the screen by 2013.

The new movie will be produced by King and Tim Headington.

The project doesn’t yet have a script or a writer, but sources say that the team would like to see a new origin story for Lara Croft rather than continuing the franchise. That probably means than Angelina Jolie won’t be back in the role of Croft as well.

The game was created in 1996 by Eidos, now part of entertainment group Square Enix. (In December, Enix subsidiary, Crystal Dynamics, said it was working on a new Raider game, this one based on the origins of Croft.)

So, who do you think should play the new Lara Croft?
