The sequel to “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra” is moving forward with news that John Chu will direct the film.
Chu, who directed the currently playing biography of singer Justin Beiber, takes over for Stephen Sommers. Sommers directed the first installment which was a financial hit for Paramount but didn’t make fans say, “Yo, Joe!”
It’s also being reported that in addition to a new director, there may be some major recasting for the sequel.
Due to conflicts in schedule, it appears that Joseph Gordon-Levitt may not be able to return and that actress Sienna Miller may not be back for the sequel.

If Dennis Quaid is back I may watch it. With Levitt not returning Quaid would be the only saving grace for a sequel.
Sommers couldn't do the job so they're bringing in the Bieber/Step-Up Sequel guy?
This can not end well.
