Ticket Sales Down 25% for January

After a few years that saw January movie ticket sales rise, Hollywood is seeing an old trend make a comeback. This year’s ticket sales for the first month of the year were down 25% according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Revenues last month came in at $792.3 million, essentially even with 2008, when revenues for the month were $794.7 million.

Hollywood observers say a lack of a solid holiday blockbuster to carry over into the first month of the calendar year can be partially to blame.

Did anyone notice that the weather has been crappy across major parts of the country this past month? I'm sure that had nothing at all to do with people not going to the movies in January.

Let's see, no decent movies, and I've been snowed in for 90% of the month... Nope, Can't see why theye didn't make more money.
