NBC Cuts Episode Order for "The Cape"

Uh-oh.

NBC has cut the episode order of “The Cape” after Monday night’s episode hit a series low for ratings.

Ratings feel off by six percent from last week and overall the episode got a 1.5/4 rating. The lead NBC to cut the order from 13 to 10 episodes.

The series is currently working on its tenth episode, meaning that the writing staff and producers won’t have time to wrap things up or give fans any closure on the show. So, it looks like we’ll see another series ending without a resolution.

Maybe the BBC will pick it up and make it the hit it deserved to be!

  2. I wanted this show to succeed when I first heard of it, but when it aired, I was like WTF is this....!?!? Carnival of Crime? Seriously?

This is a genre show cancellation I can get behind.

My son (22) and I love this show! It is not pretending to be any more than it is, just a lot of fun. Sure, it's silly sometimes! Some people take comics too seriously - I'll probably get hate mail - but they are just freaking COMICS!

    Carnival of Crime = brilliance

    Disappointing news to be sure.
Why have we become this society of instant gratification? Why can't the networks let a season play out and THEN decide.
Many shows and movies have tried to bring comic to screen and I think "The Cape" has done it best out of any of them. Weird and odd enough to be comic bookish, but still firmly grounded in a world that we can relate to.

Imagine if they had only given Star Trek TNG only 4 episodes to prove itself?

Fast-paced, fun, interesting characters. I like how it follows comic book logic. Too bad the execs don't see it turning a profit for them quick enough. But, then again, fans of this kind of show are not willing to chained to tv's time clock anymore. I haven't since the late eighties.

I told you it was doomed.

I think this is a great show and deserves a chance to finish. I agree with Christopher, a show needs more than 4 episodes to prove itself. Since NBC own Syfy, why not just move it there (assuming fans will forgive them for canceling SGU). If they cancel it, fewer people will watch genre shows because they don't want to get emotionally invested in a show that will end suddenly. That's not good business sense.

Someday, a network is going get smart and simply make a show called SUMMER GLAU is SUMMER GLAU in THE ADVENTURES OF SUMMER GLAU.

This show, The Cape…is a show I didnt think I would care for in the beginning.,.,. However, upon viewing Every episode now…I Love it!!Please dont cancel it…or cut it off just before the end of season, to leave everyone wondering?? That happens too much in good shows that seem to get cut because someone thought they werent popular (when they were!!)

I'm happy to see it go. After trying to get around the bad script and forced family issues, I had to give up recording it. Great actors, but I'm sad to say it's a doomed show.

You gave it four shows and gave up on it? Wow, it really is a fast food world. That is the same thinking that almost got Fringe canceled. How any show can survive in today's world in beyond me with thinking like that. At least give it a season. I gave Heroes a pass after Season 1 and hoped for bigger and better things in Season 2. I hated Season 2 but watched the entire season b/c I wanted it to be better and live up to the show it could be. Pretty soon people are going to be giving up on shows after the pilot.

I really like this series. I really hate that they are going to end the series and not reach a conclusion. I would like to see chess to be revealed to be who he really is and I would love to have Vincent to be proven innocent as well as revealing to his family that he is still alive.

NBC should allow the series to come to its conclusion.
