Some of you may be looking at the headline and wondering why the news that actor Joaquin Phoenix being in the running for a role in a movie about Abraham Lincoln is news for the Slice of SciFi web site.
Well, how about if we told you that it was because he’d play Henry Sturgess, a man who saves the teenage Lincoln from vampires and teaches him how to slay the bloodsuckers in the big-screen version of “Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter?”
According to Deadline, the actor has been approached to play the role.
No word yet on if he’ll accept.
Last week, the title role went to Benjamin Walker.

Obviously a fantasy. The two actors signed on to play young and old Honest Abe, are pretty boys. Abe was one of the homeliest of presidents.
I can’t wait to see this movie, when it shows up on cable.
@Jimmy B. I don't think you can call Joaquin a "pretty-boy". He's interesting, and his face has a Lincoln quality. He doesn't have the height, though. I want my Lincoln portrayed as over six foot tall. It's important for the image. The hat won't cover it alone.
