According to Deadline Hollywood Wonder Woman will be coming to fans of the famous busty superheroine after much hype, then delay, rumors of cancellation and now pick-up. NBC entertainment president Bob Greenblatt surprised everyone on Friday by giving the nod to the David E. Kelley reboot. Perhaps the peacock saw the light after Kelley’s other new show on NBC, “Harry’s Law” starring the indomitable award-winning actress Kathy Bates auditioned with strong numbers last week. She is to estrogen what Kelley’s Denny Crane was to testosterone.
If Greenblatt would have listened to the fans of Kelley we could have told him not to dismiss this creative genius so fast and it would have saved a lot of Wonder Woman fans from a month of turmoil. But hey! That’s showbiz.
Sean From Edwards says
Sounds fine to me, if it’s on NBC doesn’t that mean it will hit netflix and hulu that much quicker. Now, mr Kelley listen to me, there is only one woman to fill wonder woman’s costume, Bridget Regan, hire her, her new baby needs food.
Lejon from Chandler says
So, something to watch once or twice and see if NBC can actually do a superhero show. We’ll see.
Mungai says
I think the real reason is because NBC realized how bad “The Cape” was and wanted a new superhero show to fill the old “Heroes” slot.
Jaysonc says
It can’t be just me but I have little or no faith that traditional networks can deliver quality TV and this especially true of NBC.

Have you heard the premise yet?
From IGN: “Deadline has the first bit of plot description we’ve seen for Wonder Woman, describing it as, ‘a reinvention of the iconic D.C. comic in which Wonder Woman — aka Diana Prince — is a vigilante crime fighter in L.A. but also a successful corporate executive and a modern woman trying to balance all of the elements of her extraordinary life.’ ”
…. O.O…..
Summer Brooks says
Meaning she has a time-turner to give her a few extra hours during the day to SLEEP?
Why do they always show corporate executives as having so much free time on their hands and not buried in work running their companies or managing the VPs who are? Don’t Hollywood writers know that only the corrupt top execs who are stealing their companies blind have enough time to play with the millions they’re stealing?
Um… Did I say that out loud?

@WonderJenn
WTF I’m not even that big of a fan of the character and that premise makes me angry enough to bite someone’s face. I hope its wrong, but if this is the same network that recently served up that steaming pile of garbage (The Cape) its probably dead on accurate.
Tim from RI says
Didn’t NBC learn from Bionic Woman and Knight Rider, stay away from reboots.
Randall says
Wonder Woman’s secret identity has been reinvented more times than the wheel. She’s been a military officer, shopkeeper, UN Tour guide, etc and that’s only up through the early 1970s. Let’s hope this show turns out better than the quick description given above.
At least on NBC, if the show isn’t a hit right away they can burn off the unaired episodes on SyFy or USA.

—aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand, I’m out.

Bridget Regan. Yes. No other.

Since it’s David Kelley, we can assume that Wonder Woman will be advising drunk drivers to take a drink right after they caused an accident so as to ruin any breathalyzer test and will find a dying homeless man with a donor card in his pocket so that his heart can go to someone important. Oh, and Steve Trevor will be an overcompensating short, bald man. And she’ll, for some reason constantly be appearing in front of a crotchety old judge who makes random rulings that have no basis in law.
