Actress Jennifer Lawrence has been garnering rave reviews for her work in the Oscar-hopeful movie, “Winter’s Bone.”
But it could be her next role that catapults her to superstar status.
Lawrence will play Mystique in the upcoming “X-Men: First Class.”
The role required a lot of the actress, she tells the Hollywood Reporter. Lawrence says she spent eight hours a day in full body-paint make-up for the role. That’s over the five-month shoot in London and Georgia, she says. Lawrence says she also spent two hours a day working out and had an irritating diet to keep her in shape for the role. She also had a team of seven girls who got “all up in [my] business,” to make sure the make-up was right and stayed right during shooting.
“Nothing’s sacred anymore,” Lawrence says. “Those girls and I got so close. They were painting me naked every day for months. It was kind of like going to a really bizarre sleepover.”
“It’s what you guys imagine we do: One naked girl and seven pairs of hands all over her,” she mocked.
Now that shooting is over, Lawrence says she is glad to get to go back home to Kentucky and be able to eat whatever she wants for a couple of weeks.
Should “First Class” be a hit, Lawrence could be called on to put the body paint on again.
