If our news director disappears for a while, you’ll know why.
He’s off building his own TARDIS to try and win this new contest.
Sponsored by BBC America, this new contest encourages you to use all your creative energies to create your own version of the famous time machine the Doctor travels in.
It can be whatever you want: So far submissions have been all sizes and made of all kinds of materials, including snow, pizza, cake, fabric, LEGO and tattoo ink.
And the prize? One winner will receive a private Doctor Who screening for 50 guests, “plus one copy of every episode of Doctor Who currently available on DVD in the United States.” (Suggested retail value: $2,970.90.)
So, surf over to the site and check it out. And good luck.
(Please note: This is not a Slice of SciFi sponsored contest. So, while we’ll enjoy seeing your TARDIS, we can’t award you a prize for it.)

I laughed at the SRP as an exaggeration until my addled brain realized that they didn’t just mean all of the new series sets but really, truly every episode ever. Holy crap!
Now where did I pack that hot glue gun…?
