Wright Wants to Direct "Doctor Who"

Edgar Wright says that he’s willing to direct an episode or two of “Doctor Who.”

The director of “Spaced,” “Shaun of the Dead” and “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” says he’s been a big fan of the show for a long time now and even had a chance to direct during Christopher Eccleston’s tenure.

“I got offered to direct one of them when Russell T Davies was doing it, during the Christopher Eccleston series, and I wasn’t really available to do it,” he tells Digital Spy.

Wright says that new producer Steven Moffat has extended an invitation to him and that he’s ready to take it.

“I was a huge ‘Doctor Who’ nerd as a kid, to the point where I dressed up as Peter Davison’s Doctor,” he admitted.

That would be pretty damn cool. :)

Wright's aesthetics would match up nicely to the feel of the Moffatt / Smith era Doctor.
