Director Ron Howard is hard at work on the multi-platform adaptation of Stephen King’s “Dark Tower” series.
Earlier this year, it was announced that Howard would serve as director for one of several big-screen installments of the series from a script by Akiva Goldsman. Also included in the adaptation would be several television shows.
Working on the series is “incredibly stimulating” Howard tells Deadline.
“It is going well,” Howard adds. “It’s dense, a great author’s life work is not to be taken lightly. It has been utterly fascinating to explore it, and we are having great creative conversations. I’ve begun tossing and turning at three in the morning over it, so that’s a good sign.”
The “Dark Tower” novels are a seven book series by best-selling author Stephen King.

Part of me this thinking this is never going to get made in the end or it’ll be terrible if it does. Having Ron Howard behind it increases the chances. I need to stay positive.

The fact that he’s tossing and turning over it is a good sign. When something gets on your mind that much it’s bound to become an obsession. I expect to see it finished…hopefully it will be good as well.
