Series creator and producer Glenn Gordon Caron promises that final episode will be a sad one.
“It takes place in the present, it takes place seven years after that, and then it takes place 40 years after that,” he tells EW. “We have to be intelligent, and we have to startle.”
“I know for certain that people will tear up,” Caron added, when asked about how the series ends.
The last episode will air on CBS on January 21.
