"Alien" Prequel Postponed Until 2013

If you were excited about the upcoming return of Ridley Scott to the “Alien” universe, you may be disappointed to learn the project has been delayed.

Indie Wire reports that production of the project has been pushed back and we likely won’t see a movie until 2013.

According to reports, pre-production had begun with a target date of opening in late 2011.  However, some internal conflicts between Scott and 20th Century Fox could be part of why it’s been delayed.  The studio wants a PG-13 final film while Scott wants to see a R-rated film along the lines of the other installments in the franchise.

No casting had been done for the film yet.

To be honest I can wait for this as long as there is no delays on the Forever War

If Fox makes this movie PG13, I won't pay money to see it. Did you hear that FOX....make the movie R! If they can reboot the Predator franchise with an R rating then Alien should be treated just the same.

Oh by the way, this article is no longer valid as of Dec 10th.
