Marvel is looking to bring its characters back to television–and not just in animated form.
A couple of weeks ago, we told you about how the comic book company is actively developing three projects for the home audience.
One of them was a rebooted Hulk TV show. At the time, we reported that ABC was interested and that Guillermo Del Toro and David Eick were in conversations about being the producers.
Turns out that Del Toro and Eick will work together on the new series. The series will be a reboot and seek to give us a energized, twentysomething Bruce Banner. As for the on-screen Hulk, reports indicate that we’ll see a mixture of prosthetics, puppetry and CGI to realize Banner’s alter ago, the design of which will be overseen by Del Toro.
According to reports, Eick and Del Toro will work together on the pilot episode with Eick scripting and Del Toro directing.
The hope is to have the series ready to launch in the fall of 2012, after the big-screen version of “The Avengers” hits theaters.
Can I just throw in my two cents and say that writer Peter David needs to be involved in this show in some capacity.
