Having a hard time getting your hands on a copy of “Doctor Who: The Complete Fifth Series?”
You’re not alone.
TV Shows on DVD reports that fans across the United States are having problems getting the DVD and Blu-Ray releases of the set from either traditional brick and mortar stores or on-line venues.
Here’s their report:
The high demand for “Doctor Who” and “Sherlock” could mean that sets are selling out quickly. And that’s good news for both shows.
However, it’s not good news for fans who want their copies immediately. Hopefully, this won’t discourage fans from supporting this great show.

I did manage to get my hands on Doctor Who -- Thank you, Newbury Comics. -- but I haven't seen a single copy of Sherlock yet. I try not to buy DVDs at Borders or Best Buy, since they tend to overprice things and I prefer to support regional chains or independent stores, but that might be my only option this time around. (It was for Max Headroom.
) I'm definitely not buying it from Amazon. I'm mad at them again for their most recent annual fail-fest.
Barnes & Noble (online, at least) had to delay my order of the "Who" Blu-Ray set. Very disappointed, but they say it will ship within the next week, so keeping my fingers crossed...!
I am running a contest on my website to give away a free copy of the Doctor Who Season 5 box set (your choice of DVD or Blu-Ray). Check it out here:

The contest ends soon so enter now - and good luck!
Good thing that I got Sherlock in Region 2! It came out before R1.
I got my Season 5 DVD set at Best Blue. They did not have a large quantity of them and I got one of the few copies that they had for sale.
Amazon says they have it in stock.
Amazon does not have Sherlock in stock. My pre-order was delayed by one to three weeks.
