Director Guillermo del Toro says that he likes 3-D, if used for the right projects and done well.
And he says that his upcoming version of “Frankenstein” isn’t the right project.
“I don’t want to see Jane Austen’s Pride And Prejudice and see Mr Darcy in 3D. I don’t want to see Wuthering Heights in 3D,” he tells Digital Spy. The director says that the technology works for movies like “How to Train Your Dragon” and “Avatar” but it isn’t necessary for every film.
“I do believe that big spectacle movies like ‘Avatar’ or ‘At The Mountains Of Madness; or ‘The Haunted Mansion’ should be in 3D,” he added. Del Toro says that while he was attached to “The Hobbit” he was asked about the film being made in 3D, but he felt it wasn’t necessary for the film.
“Frankenstein, I will fight for it not to be in 3D, ‘Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde I wouldn’t like it to be 3D,” he said. “‘Slaughterhouse-Five’, I think Kurt Vonnegut would have smiled either way.”

You go, Guillermo! Stand your ground. It's a nice change to see someone interested in making a film good rather than just making a popular piece of crap just to make money.
