Zemeckis Talks Roger Rabbit, Superman

Oscar-winning director Robert Zemeckis was recently asked how progress is coming on the proposed sequel to “Who Frame Roger Rabbit.”

“It’s being worked on,” he tells MTV News, adding that original screenwriters Jeffrey Price and Peter Seaman are currently writing the sequel. Zemeckis hasn’t said he’ll direct it yet, but he appears to be leaning toward the possibility.

One movie he won’t direct is the upcoming Superman movie. Zemeckis said that studio executives at Warner Brothers gauged his interest in bringing the Man of Steel to the big-screen again but that he “passed on that faster than a speeding bullet.”

He said that the rumors of his involvement with the Superman reboot came mostly from on-line sources but that despite a few brief feelers by the studio, he was never interested.

“When they asked if I wanted to make the, what is it, seventeenth version of ‘Superman,’ I said, ‘No, I don’t think so,’” he said.

Smart of Robert to turn down Superman. He really doesn't need "that kind of rejection". ;)

I don't know how I feel about a "Roger Rabbit" sequel. The original was basically perfect. Can they catch lightning in a bottle again?
