If you’ve been using a disc to watch streaming Netflix video on your Nintendo Wii, you can toss that disc. Nintendo debuted a channel to watch streaming content from the popular on-line rental service earlier this week. Users can log in an download the new channel.
The Netflix service for Nintendo Wiis, which launched in April, required subscribers to request a special software disc that enables the streaming of movies and television shows.
Netflix customers with a minimum $8.99 subscription plan, a Wii and broadband Internet connection are eligible.

FYI, same thing for the Playstation 3. You no longer need a disc for Netflix streaming on PS3.
Works in Canada too. Signed up last night and watched the first ep of Primeval. Fun stuff!!
The Wii channel is actually more useful than the disc version, you can now search, and even add DVD only movies to your queue. There are also subtitles on some programs.
